Glenn Land Farm Our lambs continue to find their way into upscale restaurants and supermarkets and are being sought after because they are finished on pasture in a natural setting. During the past year our pasture finished White Dorper lamb was ranked far above 4 other breeds of lamb that were the subject of a taste test conducted using a panel of chefs in the Bay Area. The tenderness and mild flavor were the key points that gave the White Dorper lamb the advantage. One of our lamb buyers says that he thinks that all of his restaurant chefs will be asking for “dorper” lamb in the near future. With the downturn in the economy people are going to be dining out less, but when they do they will expect to have a good eating experience and dorper lamb should be high on their list of dining choices. Lot 7: Yearling Ewe 1519 DOB: 10/18/07 twin This fall born yearling has been exposed to our Lewis ram 8074 we call “Paul.” This is a ewe we should be keeping in our flock, but we want to put good ones in the sale that will go on and be productive for our buyers.
